Downtime Activities:
Here are the list of what can independent inquisitors do in Midlund when there is no task or mission to be done. You need to have at least 1 week free to conduct these activities. Multiple continuous free weeks stack.

Downtime Activity: Fenix’s Drill Instructor.
House Fenix is looking to expand their standing army. Rumor has it, that it is likely due to the increasing number of goblin raiders within their territory. Thus, they seek able instructors to train their new recruits. If you are interested, you can choose which training you can give, but you also need to fulfill the requirement to give that specific training. Each training has quotas and once the quotas filled to the maximum, the training choice is no longer needed.
This downtime activity is available from 3rd week Sextilius, Year 1437. The activity is not available before that date.

The choices are:

1. Fencing Instructor.
Requirement: Proficiency in longswords or shortswords.
Reward: 40 silver pieces per week.
Quotas: 360/240 Fulfilled

2. Crossbow Instructor.
Requirement: Proficiency in light crossbows or heavy crossbows. Proficiency in Perception.
Reward: 50 silver pieces per week.
Quotas: 300/300 Fulfilled

3. Polearm Instructor.
Requirement: Proficiency in longspears or halberds.
Reward: 40 silver pieces per week.

Universal requirement:
Giving training is arduous task and can be quite taxing. To avoid being too exhausted or too stressed, you must make a constitution saves or wisdom saves to see if you can continue on giving training. Failing means you cannot continue for now and must take your time elsewhere such as taking missions or other activities beside this one before you can return to try again.

The DC is 10 for two weeks and increases by 5 for each additional week (15 for three, 20 for four, and so on).

For example: If you roll 11, you can only take two weeks worth of the job. Rolling 23 means you can give training for four weeks.

You must have appropriate number of continuous free weeks! If you only have two weeks of free time, you can only have two weeks worth of job regardless of your constitution or wisdom saves.

Downtime Activity: Deathwatch Recruitment Effort.
The Covenant manage to reestablish connection with the Deathwatch. Although the Deathwatch is not fully trust the Southerners at first, they decide to cooperate in order to defeat the undeads and uncover the fate of the Uzyaran.
The first thing the Deathwatch wishes to do is to increase their number for the upcoming campaign. Independent Inquisitors can help in this effort by actively look for promising people who is willing to join the Deathwatch. This will be quite challenging due to the reputation of the Deathwatch itself.
The noble houses of Midlund and the Covenant are willing to give some financial and influential support. The Covenant especially, is willing to provide recruitment and training ground.

This downtime activity is available from 5th week Quattrolius, Year 1438. The activity is not available before that date.

How to Recruit:
There are two possible method of recruitment: Press Gang and Formal Recruitment.
There are three recruit qualities: Poor, Average and Good.
Deathwatch requires at least 80 new members. The quality of the recruits will have impact on how the Deathwatch fare in the coming battle and story.

Press Gang
DC: 18
With the help of some ruthless Deathwatch members and mercenaries, you force people to join. You can use Athletic (Str) or Intimidation (Cha).
As an option, you can roll faith test before attempting to gain +2 bonus to the roll. Paladin automatically fail this faith test.
This method is rather unethical.

Success: You gain 20 volunteers to the Deathwatch. Roll 1d2. The result is the number of Good quality recruits, while the rest is average quality.
You received 60 silver pieces.

Success by 5 or more: You gain 20 volunteers to the Deathwatch. Roll 2d2. The result is the number of Good quality recruits, while the rest is average quality.
You received 60 silver pieces.

Failure: You gain 20 volunteers to the Deathwatch. Roll 3d4. The result is the number of Poor quality recruits, while the rest is average quality. The mob retaliates and you gain 1 level of exhaustion.
You received 20 silver pieces.

Failure by 5 or more: You don’t gain any volunteers. The mob retaliates heavily. You are traumatized and gain 1 level of exhaustion.
You received no payment.

Formal Recruitment
DC: 17
You are allowed to use one of the Covenant bases to recruit possible member. You can use Deception (Cha), Persuasion (Cha) or Performance (Cha) (Oratory).

Success: You gain 20 volunteers to the Deathwatch. Roll 1d6. The result is the number of Good quality recruits, while the rest is average quality.
You received 50 silver pieces.

Success by 5 or more: You gain 20 volunteers to the Deathwatch. Roll 2d6. The result is the number of Good quality recruits, while the rest is average quality.
You received 50 silver pieces.

Failure: You gain 20 volunteers to the Deathwatch. Roll 2d4. The result is the number of Poor quality recruits, while the rest is average quality.
You received 25 silver pieces.

Failure by 5 or more: You don’t gain any volunteers. You are gain 1 level of exhaustion.
You received 10 silver pieces.

{Character assist}
You can enlist the help of one from the following characters to get better chance or result. Note that this option only available if you decide to include more roleplaying in the downtime. You must at least be an acquaintance to the character you want to enlist.

Killian Fortier
This noble-born Covenant members can help you gain more average recruits when you make a successful roll. The amount is 1d10.
Killian will not participate in press gang method. He also provides +1 to your persuasion roll.
You receive 10sp extra profit when you are successful.

Titus Fenix
The current lord of House of Fenix. He can help increase the quality of recruits by providing better equipment and wages. When you roll for good quality recruits, you add extra 1d6 to the chance roll.
Titus also provides +1 to your deception or intimidation roll.
You receive 10sp extra profit when you are successful. 20sp if you use Formal Recruitment method.

Viktor
Thug turn mercenary. Viktor can help you nab more recruits forcefully. You gain more average recruits when you make a successful roll. The amount is 1d10.
Viktor also provides +1 to your athletic or intimidation roll.

David and Marion
These Covenant clerks can ease administration workload. You don’t gain exhaustion when you fail. You also gain more average recruits when you make a successful roll. The amount is 1d10.
David and Marion will not participate in press gang method. They also provide +1 to your persuasion roll.
