Rumor
Known as writer, adventurer and monster hunter, Rudolph van Houten, is a renown figure in Vorostokov. Although not a part of the House of Melbont, van Houten was known to be in a good terms with the Inquisitor group in Vostok. His perception and instinct, as well as passion to jot down various important things, has led him to be invited by House of Melbont as a scribe. Bestiaries, geographical landmarks, and social studies, are some of the publications from van Houten, one of the famous is the series of 'van Houten Guide to' which covered different aspects. Support from the House of Melbont has influenced the rapid documentation by van Houten, especially by accompanying the local Inquisitor to various places, as well as hunting undead and monstrosity. His publications are well known and used by merchants or mercenaries who visit Vorostokov, since information sometimes leads to staying alive or getting killed.
Alas, since the event which led to the slaughtered of the House of Melbont, no one is really know what happened to van Houten. Even worse, lot of his documentations were also gone and burned. Still, there are several existing document left, especially those who are safely carried by the people who purchased it before the incident, and the information inside will be valuable for those who will pay a visit to the land of Boyar Emhyr.
Are you the one fortunate enough to possess and peek inside the guide?
