Society
Tavern as a place for social gathering and attracting trouble (source: Castlevania)
"This is no drill, and its not rehearsal either, the cold gaze of the people is real."
-Vostok's proverb
Lumberjack and hunter are the two common professions in the area, with forest encircling settlement, harvesting wood to be utilized for fuel, construction, and daily lives. Wild animal inside the forest also proves as fertile ground for the hunter to provide food and clothing for the people. Even so, lumberjack and hunter in Vostok are sometimes wise enough not to wander recklessly, as rumor exists of Horror and monstrosity luring them with abundant resource, consuming the greed of the people. The local activities draw the traveling merchant to gather in the safety of settlement, usually in tavern, waiting to purchase leather armor, leather coat, and timber, to be traded with daily necessities or paid in silver. The local folks are cautious enough to the visiting merchant and stranger, giving them the cold gaze as trust is not so easily obtained in Vorostokov.

"So why don't we form an alliance for now?"
-Slavic wise words from Vostok
All of the information here regarding Vorostokov might be heard from the traveling merchant who visited the area before. Such a merchant usually boast about their experience of visiting Boyar Emhyr's domain, talking to the folks with their common proverb or song, as well as searching for potential buyer of the Vostok's goods. Whether the information is true or not, hopefully it give some kind of insight regarding Vorostokov.
And last but not least... the merchant also can be heard giving words of wisdom which is not very clear.
"Those who want to survive the harsh cold and monstrosity of the domain, should pay attention to the van Houten guide series..."
